Who We Are
Board Member of Chiropractic Stroke Awareness Organization
As of 2008, the Chiropractic Stroke Awareness Organization is in its initial stages of establishing a non-profit organization with a mission. We welcome inquiries and participation from others who are interested in learning more about the concurrence of strokes and chiropractic treatment. If you are a stroke survivor, we urge you to participate in our collection of factual data and to connect with others who can truly empathize with what you have endured. If you are a family member of a stroke victim, or simply a concerned citizen, you may wish to help raise awareness of this issue. If you are a chiropractor who is seeking to elevate your profession by implementing important procedural and clinical changes that may prevent debilitating injury to your patients, we welcome your participation.
Chiropractic Stroke Awareness Organization is dedicated to understanding, evaluating and researching the risks of stroke induced by chiropractic upper cervical manipulation, as well as providing support for stroke victims and their families.
Building a Community of Concerned People
The founding board members of this organization include two stroke victims who had received upper cervical manipulation shortly before they survived debilitating strokes, as well as an attorney advisor who offers legal guidance, advice and assistance to our cause. We seek to build a community of people who, like us, want to gather and provide information on this critical issue. Ultimately, we hope to gather enough raw data to engage an independent, professional, unbiased scientific research organization to conduct a systematic study of the risks, prevention and mitigation of injury.
Bringing Together People and Information
Currently, the board members of our organization include Christa and Kelley. Please refer to the "Our Stories" page of this website to learn about their experiences with chiropractic care and the strokes they suffered, as well as their commitment to preventing this from happening to others. Also serving on our board is Charles Rock, Esq., whose role is to provide guidance and support as we work toward the goal of ultimately reducing the incidence of strokes in chiropractic patients from upper cervical manipulations. We hope to positively impact chiropractic care and treatment through scientific analysis, dissemination of information, recognition of medical risks, and mandatory warnings to patients, as well as providing support for other stroke victims.
