Mission
Our Mission is three-fold
Our Primary Mission is to raise public awareness so that fewer people will suffer strokes. We provide relevant information because we believe that a more informed public will make better choices. When consumers know about the relationship between cervical manipulation and stroke, then and only then can a truly informed choice be made. Equipped with this information, more people will reject upper cervical manipulation. We will then see fewer consumers suffer strokes.
We seek change. We seek to raise awareness. We seek to prevent others from suffering strokes from inappropriate therapies being provided by unskillful practitioners. We do this not only through this website, but also through appropriate healthcare legislation and through the civil justice system.
Our Second Mission is to offer a sanctuary to persons affected by chiropractic stroke. We offer a community where we share and obtain relevant information, share experiences and help each other. We've seen too many forums, websites and blogs where personal attacks are directed at people recovering from chiropractic induced strokes. We make this site available to those who want and need a forum to express themselves, either to a smaller closed group, anonymously or openly, or to the public at large, without concern of being attacked in this forum.
Our Third Mission is to build a medical records database of stroke diagnosis with recent chiropractic treatment. The collection of primary records will then be analyzed by a research group to draw conclusions.
Specifically, we seek to understand:
- How many people who have been treated by chiropractic have gone on to suffer stroke (retrospective analysis)?
- How many people who continue to undergo this therapy can expect to suffer a stroke in the future (prospective analysis)?
We intend no harm to chiropractors; rather, our aim is to make chiropractic safe by removing a therapy that is fraught with danger of severe harm. If we succeed, so too will chiropractic.
