What to Do
What to Do if You Have a Stroke Possibly Induced by Chiropractic Treatment
If You Suffer a Stroke
Be ready to take quick action. Often, there are warning signs that a stroke is imminent or is underway. The type and variety of warning signs differ from one stroke victim to another. (Refer to Signs and Symptoms of Stroke). Even if you think you "feel better now," do not eliminate the possibility of stroke and get medical attention as quickly as possible.
Write Down Essential Information
While you are thinking as clearly as possible, write down or tell someone any information that may be helpful if you are later unable to talk to a doctor about them: for example:
- What time did your symptoms start?
- Have you done anything unusual or noteworthy in recent days or weeks?
- Have you had chiropractic treatments within the last 30 days?
Your outcome when you have had a stroke may differ greatly depending on how quickly you get medical help. Therefore, call 911 immediately.
