Media Awareness

Growing Media Awareness of Strokes Induced by Chiropractors and Upper Spine Manipulation

For years, isolated young stroke victims who were also chiropractic patients did not realize that their cases were not, in fact isolated. In recent years, awareness and advocacy groups have increased dramatically. Today, victims and their caregivers and advocates often band together in groups such as the Chiropractic Stroke Awareness Group, LLC, to reach out to fellow victims.

Partly through the efforts of chiropractic stroke awareness groups, mainstream media forces have publicized victims' stories. These media outlets have included Fox and CNN. Meanwhile, the Internet is a powerful media force in itself, allowing victims and others who are concerned about chiropractic-induced strokes to find each other and join forces to get the word out to others.

Chiropractic Stroke Awareness Organization is dedicated to understanding, evaluating and researching the risks of stroke induced by chiropractic upper cervical manipulation, as well as providing support to stroke victims and their families.

Support, Research, Awareness, Prevention

In addition to raising awareness about the risk of upper cervical manipulation, we are providing a supportive environment for stroke survivors and their families, and are vitally interested in promoting scientific research. We believe that scientific studies may take the discussion to the next level — from anecdotal evidence to well-analyzed conclusions. Resulting scientific conclusions should eventually bring about a higher awareness among all who wish to prevent future strokes induced by chiropractic upper cervical manipulation.

A Trickle of Anecdotes is Becoming a River of Evidence

What was once a trickle of individual stories is becoming a river or a flood of evidence as victims step forward. Our goal is to gather as much raw evidence as possible and commission an independent, world-class scientific research organization to analyze this data. Both advocates and chiropractors who oppose the concept will benefit from knowledge gleaned through such research.

Seeking Verifiable Evidence

Valuable research has already been conducted. (For an example, click here). Groups of chiropractors have presented opposing viewpoints. Our goal is to take this type of research and awareness a step beyond and generate a comprehensive database from which researchers can extract verifiable evidence of the truth.

We welcome stroke victims, attorneys, medical doctors, therapists, caregivers and conscientious chiropractors to join in our quest for networking, awareness and credible research results. Contact us.
